Today I am older -

older than yesterday -

older than the word written before this one,

and now that one too.

An accumulation of previous thoughts,

experiences, bumps, and bruises.

All of which have lead me to now -

and continually carry me into tomorrow -

into the unknown.

The absence of something ain't nothing.

I've been in many rooms where the weight of not knowing what happens when we die lay heavy on the shoulders of most.

I tend to be more concerned with what it is we do know -

the sun will rise and fall -

I know how to walk, how to talk.

It's simply just much more interesting to ponder on what it is we can do -

here and now.

What's possible to achieve,

how I can overcome,

etc...

and inevitably when the time comes that I leave this earth,

I've left behind many little moments and things that truly meant something to me at the time.

Death is always coming for me -

life is leaving every second of the day -

might as well give it a run for its money.
